The west bank of the Nile River

The west bank of the Nile River near Luxor. It was the Nile River, the longest in the world, that made civilization possible in ancient Egypt. It brought water each year for the irrigation of Egypt’s crops. It was an effective means of transportation for people and cargo of all kinds. In a desert land it can be said, "without the Nile there would have been no Egypt."
